Looks like Saudi’s survive the arab spring and onslaught of Iranian influence. One or two decades of further status-quo for middle east.
I always wonder what will happen to end of times predictions and defeat of armies of Rome (read USA).

Egypt had one unusual event, arab spring. That was brought under complete control. Or so it seems.
Pakistan has lot more hope, but so far our unusual positive developments, like media and recent political awakening, is also some what being naturalized.

Morsi made a few mistakes - but death sentence?
This is undeniable proof of the idiocy of the Egyptian public and administration. I spoke to a few of their citizens during the ousting of Morsi and I told them that Sisi is another Mubarak and that things don’t look good. They were saying everything would be good now that Sisi is in power. They were rejoicing at his coup … Then later on they were saying - Sisi tricked us … Come on - you had your eyes shut in broad daylight and then you claim you couldn’t see it coming.
And for the record … I am not a Morsi supporter - some of his mistakes like trying to circumvent the very democratic process that got him to power was a bad move. The public couldn’t see that the economic strain was not so much his doing as it was the doing of external pressures. He needed to be better as a statesmen and he didn’t employ enough of a mix of people. People were afraid of Egypt becoming too conservative and that is what happens when you are out of touch with reality. He could have made Egypt into another Turkey if he played his cards right … but death sentence? No … He is a hafiz-ul-Qur’an … leave him alone.

I doubt if they’ll act on this execution. I highly doubt. Army is not that stupid. Morsi by itself was nothing, it was his team who were very powerful and smart. If Morsi is executed someone else will rise up on the name of Morsi whom i’m sure people will recall as hero once executed

Maybe morsi made some mistakes but sisi should be the real criminal for sufis if it was was to decide with moral. But sufis are ok with sisi’s liberalism despite his butchering.

Saudis and the whole of GCC has been on britisd and later ameican payroll, so shame on wahabi’ism? Heck, JI and JUI fazlus would bend over backwards when it suited them to entertain a ‘kafir’ Joanne Herring in the eighties or alliance with BB for fazlu when it is “haram” for women to rule over “Islamic lands”.
PS Perhaps, if wahabis aka so-called ‘salafists’ (stain on the character of original salafi sahabis) weren’t kidnapping, looting and blowing up other muslims left and right, more people might be their allies?
Now, I don’t support Morsi’s sentence when Mubarak goes free, but what purpose does it serve by bombing Coptic churches “in response” and even mosques? The twisted salafi islam where women can be forced to marry ‘mujahideen’ and dead bodies can be eaten / hung from poles really has done some “PR” for islam and muslims.
PS2 Sufis are only talking, while ironically the previous supporters of MB = the Saudis actually fund Sisi along with UAE. Which one is worse? Perhaps, they want army protection from the salafi hordes that blow up innocent muslims in mosques and streets?

Saudis have never supported MB. You are ignorant, just spewing hatred against MB. Instead, Saudis consider MB a threat as they could replace Saudi’s dictatorship and tribal Islam in Saudi Arabia.

Egyptian court confirms death sentence for former President Mursi after getting approval of Grand Mufti. The mufti is a Sufi. what a shame.
