I have to say that Asif-k has a strong case for calling Johnny boy DUMB.

A) To call 'America' dumb is different from saying 'American politicians' are dumb. It's a classic case of JD shooting off without waiting for his scriptwriter to finish penning the lines.

B) To backtrack on his statement shows weakness of character, plus confirms that the scriptwriter had penned different lines.

C) To include his kids in the statement was perhaps the biggest mistake he made. A frantic call from his lawyer must have convinced him to change his stance. What if his kid decided to enter American politics and carry on the dumbness? This statement of his would have ruined their careers.

I'm sick of mindless America bashing. Particularly by those who feed off it.

Asif, you have my support on this matter.
