and stereotyping NE Indians as having 'loose character, always smoking and drinking, primitive, promiscuous etc' is because of the trait exhibited by the races or because of pre-conceived ideas? you dont always have to mindlessly defend your pind.
The red light districts in New Delhi are full of girls from the North East & Nepal. In Delhi, its easier to get a hooker who is from the North East than from any other place.
And you still wonder why people stereotype ? :p
This is the same as an innocent Muslim being subject to scrutiny at airports around the world since more Muslims have been associated with terrorist acts than any other religious groups. Now this may not be right, but thats how human psychology works. And while that might be racial stereotyping, its not racism. :)
To me the North East states are more racist than North India, since Hindi speaking people have been attacked and even shot in places like Assam etc. The same goes for Maharashtra where Raj Thakeray and his goons targeted non "Marathi-manoos".
