There already were PEMRA rules and regulations in place, but they proved ineffective. And the govnt has terrorist sympathizers in it, so negotiations with Ghazi were not a surprise. They also had to be done to try to save lives.
Yes, that's correct. The proof of how the media has realised it's mistakes is how all have now practically signed upto the newly amended PEMRA ordinance, and been allowed back on air. Except Geo that is, but even that now has a dumbed down, PTV-like appearance, so it too has in effect fallen in line - though they are too proud to admit it yet. :)
