The resistance and tenacity of FATA is a myth.
The fact remains since there are no roads there, moving up large number of troops to do battle in that area remains very difficult.
Thats exactly what happened to the British. The British won every single battle against them but due to the lack of roads, could not bring in reinforcements, medical supplies and food and thus had to withdraw.
So the strategy then should be to bomb them from the air, like the Americans did. Look how quickly the Taliban crumbled in Afghanistan when USA attacked them.
Even today, the Taliban are losing thousands of men fighting NATO in Afghanistan.
Pakistan should employ a similar strategy
