Re: More makeup = more competent

Makeup is so overrated. This explains the article:

[QUOTE]

The study was paid for by Procter & Gamble, which sells CoverGirl and Dolce & Gabbana makeup.

There's a world beyond the fairy tale world of fashion and cosmetics in which people are sane enough not to choose candidates based on whether they're wearing makeup or not. Never wore makeup to any of my professional interviews and got the job each time. In my first professional job, I worked in a female dominated department and none but one of my female colleagues wore makeup which was hardly noticeable. Three of the ladies have been promoted to senior positions nationally and internationally, and it has nothing to do with their appearance. One of them actually was more of a tomboy, someone who the participants in this study would have outright rejected.

Re: More makeup = more competent

I don't think it's overrated exactly. I think it (or at least it should) come down to what you feel is comfortable and appropriate. Personally, I'm comfortable going out bare faced (as in sans foundation/concealor) even though I know I look more "polished" with makeup....likewise someone else would need a bit of the "natural" look...

On the otherhand, if my coworkers are being rude or untrusting of me....or I'm not advancing at my job.....hopefully it'd have nothing to do with my makeup lol

But if you notice the "glamour" look in that link...even that is so...bland..compared to the other makeup I see on a daily basis lol
