By now it’s obvious that drawing pictures of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is a blasphemy and the entire cartoon is very disrespectful to the Muslims, yet I fail to understand why other European nations would want to be publishing such cartoons over and over again.
It clearly goes to show how much culturally and religiously sensitive Europeans (or at least their newspapers) are toward Muslims.

My only objection was to some people here agreeing with ahmadinejad on his call for an investigation since he thought holocaust did not occur. It is akin to saying we need an investigation into claims of africans being enslaved and brough to America by force.

There is a difference between insulting a political figure/leader and a religious leader/prophet.
Had they depicted an average Muslim or a Muslim leader with the whole deal, I don't think the reaction would've been so strong.

Hatred never serves any purpose,We should condemn every atrocity/racialism either by us or our "enemies" and not justify it. Don't look at the little fleck on someone else's face and ovelook big smears on our own.

Why bother going into public spotlight when you can conveniently shoot down civilian homes with your apache gunships and bulldoze schools and houses in broad daylight, in the name of killing those terrorists who threw rocks at you.
The cartoons made by muslims in retaliation are not the way to go. Neither is the burning down of consulates. Peaceful dialogue should always be the way. Though its funny when the holocaust is mentioned, so many non-jews have rushed to the help of jews.
The point is, if a topic disturbs a billion people or more then stay away from it! All those of you here who have run to defend the jews' rights (because muslims made holocaust cartoons), when was the last time you ran to defend the rights of muslims when danish newspapers printed those cartoons?

Firstly we have to ask ourselves, is there a redline that can’t be crossed with freedom of expression? If the answer is ‘no’ then i can deny the holocaust without fear, as this would be my right to free speech. If the answer is ‘yes’, then surely the sanctity of religion is well beyond that redline. People of all religions have in the past and even now, given their lives for the sake of their religious beliefs. Freedom of speech should end when it intrudes on the freedom of others.

israelis don’t commit such atrocities because palestinians drew cartoons of moses or holocaust survivors…they do so to ruthlessly crush any threats to the security of their nation.
all i’m saying is that muslims have turned this danish bigot into a hero just by responding like lunatics and barbarians. my original point was that jews would have destroyed such an individual without a single act of violence…so this parallel backfires pretty badly.

This is not true. the fact is, most of the world has the view depicted byt the cartoons of the prophet. The world equates terrorism and extremism with Islam. Equally, Muslims hate Jews therefore they believe what is being depicted in the cartoons, regardless of how factually incorrect they are. The Muslim retaliation with the cartoons, kidnappings, armed take overs, and arson has done nothing but reinforce the stereotype.
