Clean up your own backyard before bitching about your neighbors. The Arab world have spoken out about Jews and have had cartoons mocking them long before this Denmark one took Islam to task. Look at religion persecution in Saudi Arabia against non-Muslims and yet you hold your tongue and say nothing about that yet expect others to heed your call and respect Islam and all its beliefs? Come on, are you that delusional?

That is such a crap argument. So now according to you this right-wing danish paper supposedly took islam to task for all those anti-jewish stuff in arab papers? Explain to us will you, how the right of muslims to protest by something they are deeply personally offended by is invalidated in your view by political incapability of one country? And how does asking for good judgement, a human value translate in your mypoic view into enforced ‘respect of Islam and all its beliefs’?
Thats another reason why your enlightening muslims on how to protest rings hollow.

It's as if you had a group of people protesting against guns by going out and shooting those who lived next door to gun owners. Who is asking for good judgement? The protesters buring down buildings?

I think it's been well established by now that what the newspaper did by publishing the cartoon was outright disrespectful and wrong. Those who joined and published it again are also to be reprimanded.
On the same token, the way many Muslims reacted and resorted to violent outbursts is also wrong and to be deplored.
Since this is an online message board, I don't see why members should be restricted to the number of threads that are to be opened on a topic, especially since different threads are discussing different aspects of it. So what seems to be the problem now?

your argument and the argument of those of your ilk is built on fallacies. The buildings burnt down is from yesterday or the day before.
So lets start from the beginning:
September cartoons published - local protest, no demos. Diplomats ignored.
Countries excercise democratic right and boycott goods to get their message across. Message still doesn't get through.
european papers get wind of this and abusing the freedom of expression slogan -when it had zilch to do with freedom of expression and everything to do with good/bad judgement - reproduce cartoons.
Again muslim noses are rubbed in it.
Now here is where it gets interesting from my point of view, the false arguments build up:
- freedom of expression, why get offended?
- muslims don't understand western values
- Hold on, why are they protesting, they have anti-jewish cartoons and stuff, they have undemocratic countries, link 911, link afghanistan, link iraq...
- thats right, they wan't to force islam on us (boo!) and they burn buildings so no we can't listen to their argument
and ad infitum, ad nauseam.
The simple fact is you believe that by virtue of being Muslims, we're on the wrong side. That is all.
All we asked for was an unreserved apology.
