**Dozens more border guards have been jailed in Bangladesh for their role in a mutiny in February last year that killed scores of army officers.**A special court passed jail sentences ranging from four months to seven years on 57 more guards.
More than 70 people - many of them officers - were killed in the uprising over pay and conditions.
Some 3,500 border guards from the Bangladeshi Rifles are on trial across the country.
Earlier this month, 29 guards became the first to be jailed for their part in the mutiny.
Civilian courts
The mutiny erupted at the Bangladeshi Rifles (BDR) headquarters in the capital Dhaka and lasted 33 hours, during which officers were killed and their bodies dumped in sewers and shallow graves.
Other BDR units followed suit around the country in the worst mutiny of armed forces in the country’s history.
The 57 sentenced on Sunday were involved in an uprising in the south-eastern town of Feni. Only five of those charged were acquitted.
Civilian courts will handle cases involving more serious charges, including murder.
The mutiny took place just two months after the country returned to civilian rule under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
