**Italian police have arrested two men suspected of assisting a third man launch a bomb attack on an army barracks in Milan on Monday.**Prosecutors said police detained a Libyan and an Egyptian overnight, and found “a large quantity” of the same explosive as that used in the bomb.
The alleged attacker, another Libyan, 35-year-old Mohamed Game, was arrested at the scene on Monday.
He is reported to have lost a hand and his eyesight in the blast.
A soldier at the barracks was also lightly injured.
The head of parliament’s security committee, Francesco Rutelli, said on Monday the attack seemed to be an “isolated incident”, and early press reports suggested Mr Game might have a mental illness.
But the arrest of two men as suspected accomplices would appear to widen the scope of the inquiry.
Mr Game is a Libyan immigrant, who has lived in Italy legally since 2003 and is married to an Italian woman, the Ansa news agency reported.
He prayed regularly at the main mosque in Milan, but showed no sign of extremism, said the mosque’s president, Abdel Hamid Shaari.
“He dresses like a Westerner, with a very short beard. If we had suspected anything we would have told the police,” he told Ansa news agency.
