Its true it was Jews who killed jesus all I am thankful for is that Islam came 600 years latter or they would have blamed some Al-qaeeeeeda or Bin La La La Ladin for this.
The number of Americans who believe that Jews are responsible for killing Jesus has risen, according to survey taken since the release of the Mel Gibson blockbuster movie “The Passion of The Christ.” The poll, carried out by the Pew Research Center in Washington, found that the numbers are highest among African-Americans and younger people.
Critics have charged that the movie incites anti-Semitism, a charge that Gibson denies. In a March 17-21 telephone, 1,703 adults were asked if they felt Jews were responsible for the death of Jesus. Twenty-six percent blamed Jews, up from 19 percent in an ABC News poll that asked the same question in 1997.
“This represents a modest but statistically significant increase in the number holding this opinion,” the Pew Center said in a statement.
Nevertheless “a solid majority of Americans both then and now — 60 percent — continue to say that Jews were not responsible for the death of Christ,” the statement added. Thirty-four percent of those surveyed who were below the age 30, and 42 percent of African-Americans said they feel Jews were responsible for Christ’s death. Those numbers are up substantially from the 1997, which came in at 10 percent and 21 percent respectively. The survey found that 19 percent of those surveyed said they have already seen the movie, while a whopping 49 percent said they intend to see it. —AFP
I read about this film i don't understand why jewish people complaining.
Jesus was killed because jews at the time did not like him so why is there controversy about film they was there at time i don't see there excuse in this.
If it is horrific film as they describe then why they did'nt complain about schindlers list movie about holocaust when that came out because that was horrific too.

I thought Jesus was killed by the Roman Empire ppl cause he was growing stronger having a lot of followers n that the chiristians themselves killed him. They feared him cause of his growing power. Anyway, thats what i learned in school.

In the time of Jesus Christ the country was under governed by Pilate appointee of the Roman Empire. In order for stability of the people, Herod was appointed as "King" as a symbolic figurehead. The Jewish Sanhedrin (religious rulers) under leadership of Caiaphas ruled the religious lives of Jews.
Jesus was arrested by the Jewish Sanhedrin, questioned and thought to be guilty of transgressing the Jewish rules/regulations. He was then taken to Pilate for sentencing. Pilate found him innocent but not wanting a riot decided to honour the ruling of the Jewish rulers and sentenced him to the cross.
In the process the Jews said "Let his (Jesus') blood be on us and our children". Unfortunately many Christians took this as proof they may discriminate/kill Jews in later times (eg. Hitler).
Thus: You were taught wrong by people that do not know the facts.
Jesus' death was directly due to the ruling of the Jewish religious rulers and the Roman Empire was merely the executioners of their ruling
The Christians did not even exist at the time and therefor could not kill Jesus.
The Christians was only started to be called Christians almost 40 years after Jesus Christ's death.
The Roman Empire did not fear Jesus although they might have been interested if Jesus taught a rebellion (which he actually preached against).

the jews killed many prophets in there history, so it is not surprising they was blamed for prompting the killing of jesus according to xstians as well.
Of course, the important thing for all the Muslims to realise is that the Jews did not manage to get Hazrat Isa (saws) killed - true Muslims believe he never died.

I do think it was with the approval of the Roman rulers at that time.. crucifiction is not a Jewish punishment.. it was reserved by the Romans for the most heinous criminals.. had Jewish influence prevailed, Jesus probably would have been stoned or some other form of punishment known to Jews..
^ I understand that that the Jews of the time played a role in the torture that Prophet Isa (pbuh) received. However, people seem to enjoy the discrimination and hatred for Jews that seems to be growing today, as if it somehow justifies their own world view, as if it makes them better people because other people don't like Jews.

I think as Muslims we have to be careful to consider the implications of what is being stated. We know what it's like when people say "Muslims are terrorists" -- well, it's a fact isn't it? Many Muslims are terrorists. Yet when Fox news repeats this statement multiple times, affecting others' perceptions of Muslims, we, of course, get upset. Because the statement does not represent a whole truth and can lead to hatred and discrimination against Muslims.
Same thing happens when people constantly repeat the fact that Jews killed Jesus. Fact or not, we have to consider WHY it's so important to reiterate this. I'm not saying ignore or forget history. I'm saying we should consider our goals when we retell it and the reason we emphasize some facts and not others.
But its just a topic at the moment because there is some film produced by a catholic xstian, its not something that important for muslims.
Its forum for discussion so we just discussing it. I mean i don't go around with placard oh jew this and jews killed jesus no i don't have any intrest in that.
But also when you having islamic discussion history of islam and the prophets before muhammd(SAW) will come up and what happen to many of them. they was killed and tortured for example i remember Zakariya (pbuh) was killed by the israeliites by cutting his body in two and his son Yahya (pbuh) the xstians call him john the baptist was beheaded.
