Mor Mahal, one of the biggest Asian projects to hit the TV screens, is an attempt at taking the prime time Urdu play to a new level.
Written by Sarmad Sehbai and directed by Sarmad Khoosat, the drama intends to redefine the process of making a period fantasy (a fusion of the Mughal period with Greek, Turkish and Egyptian civilisations) using both classical and modern-day techniques. Seasoned writer Imran Aslam came up with the concept of Mor Mahal which has a stellar cast, including Umair Jaswal, Hina Bayat, Sarwat Jehan, Misha Shafi, Fizza Ali, Jaana Malik, Sami Khan and Sania Saeed.
Re: Mor Mahal - Sarmad Khoosat's Next Masterpiece!
I've been so out of touch with all the dramas or anything on tv for few months, but this has really made me excited, I hope it turns out to be as good or even close to muhtesim yuzyil, lets see what they come up with! I hope it looks different and uniquely Mughlai but controversial and exciting at the same time ahhh!!!! I have not seen Mughle Azam, but I've heard its a classic, so I hope Sarmad can pull it off, he's talented and really nows what he's doing, though Manto was offbeat, and critically acclaimed, I thought it looked more like a telefilm, so i hope this one looks like a proper film, because of the subject.

lol fiza ali with her fish lips. Cast is weird but i liked how it looks in the BTS pictures. Given the mediocre dramas on air these days, I will not be keeping up my hopes.
