Ok so I m very tired if using our traditional bucket mop… I ve been seeing these stem mops 4 quite long n wonder if they work better then the bucket one… There r so many available…
What do u, guyZ use to mop? Regular or steam or any other?
plz recommend. Since my baby will start crawling and we have tiles n laminate upstairs… So wanna move from bucket mop..
any suggestion is welcome
Re: Mops.
I have the same issue. Cleaning the mop itself is such a task !
My friend has that steam cleaner and I asked her for recommendation , she said its a waste of money ![]()
she said, just like a mop, you cant just mop the whole house with a single dip in the water, you need to clear out the dirt every few moments and continue the cleaning with the freshned mop.. Same is the case with the steamer cover .. it needs replacing every few minutes or else it wont pick any more dirt ..
She said it didnt replace her mop at all. Though, it added to cleanliness coz after mopping floors once a day, if there were still nooks and corners that needed cleaning, or , for quick cleans , the steamer worked well ..
Re: Mops.
Have you tried this kind of mop?:
The microfiber cloth attaches to the mop with velcro. I bought a dozen of the clothes for a good price (can’t remember where). For wood floors, I soak some in diluted vinegar and mop away, replacing them as they get dirty. Then they all go in the washing machine.
Re: Mops.
Garam, that looks like an exciting thing, whats it called?
Re: Mops.
Yes they are very common but has not yet tried them. Will you recommend?
Re: Mops.
Yes.. Are these Ike swiffers a nd reusable pad?
Re: Mops.
I searched for Microfiber Mop to find the picture. They are pretty common in the cleaning section of stores now. I do recommend them. They only downside I’ve found is that overtime hair can get caught in the velcro making it less sticky. My blonde short-haired friend who recommended the product doesn’t have this problem ;). I’ve been using the pads for over five years now and they still work well. Mine look like:
Starfiber Microfiber - Microfiber Mops.
but they are old and I can’t read the tag. I like the ones where the pad is bigger than the mop. It lets you get into those pesky corners.
Steam can do a number on laminates so be careful.
The microfibre ones are great.
Re: Mops.
I use old sweater or towel as a mop to clean the floor. but nw i cant clean floor with it as i hv to sit on floor. searching on net , hv found *** traditional string mop & microfiber flat mop
*But nw thinking how to wring them ?
Re: Mops.
I have swiffer sweeper and the lysol one… I like both. Lysol one is a bit bigger and attaching the disposable cloth is much easier. Swiffer smells nicer and the cloth stays attached even with vigorous rubbing/scrubbing while the lysol one doesn’t. I like both but the lysol one just a little bit more only because I have had it longer and more used to it.
Re: Mops.
what ever i use microfiber or steam i end up pushing up the dirt to the corners unless and untill i change the pad in every room so i have to get down on my hands and knees ![]()
Re: Mops.
still cant get answer how to wring? or use it?
Re: Mops.
I actually recommend a steam cleaner mop, I have the H20 mop and love it. I’ve never had to change the cleaning pads mid way through mopping, my floors are clean anyway so I can steam mop everywhere with one pad. I hate conventional mops, cleaning them is a hassle and you have to store a bucket for it too usually.
I also love that the steam mop sterilises surfaces and floors with just steam, which will come in handy when baby starts crawling soon inshahallah.
