Moor - Film by Jami

Moor - Film by Jami (Eid Trailer) | Original Music Composed by Strings

I don’t know how to upload the clip here. But this looks COOOOOOL!

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

This is looking very good. Nice to see that good music directors like bilal lashari and Jami is making films now. We need fresh directors with new ideas. When is the movie releasing?

And Waar is also coming this fall: Heads or tails: Waar to finally release this fall – The Express Tribune

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

Is it just me or are they all trying to follow a more Hollywood style? I think it's great. The subcontinent doesn't really have great action movies, or epic movies, or movies on social themes, and it's a good departure from masala bollywood.

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

Indeed they are moving in right direction. Item songs, dancing in the rain songs and typical romantic themes is not so pakistani. But we need investors and good cinemas to show they movies on. Khuda k liye, Bol, Chambaili like movies has done good business and shows that good movies are appericated. My concern is lack of real starts in the film industry. Apart from Shan we dont have any real superstars in the industry. Lack of quality movies in the past is one of the reason. Talented actors should be drafted in like the drama industy.

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

These kind of movies, I say in one or 2 season india is going to start copying :snooty:

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

This looks awesome. I really hope that the Pakistani audience is willing to give this one a try because, this doesn't seem like the usual song and dance fair (a plus in my opinion.) I appreciate Jami for bringing in cinematography that looks well thought out as oppose to the usual weird framing in the Pakistani movies.

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

There were rumours a few years ago that Jami was quietly making a feature film and I'm glad to hear that it's near completion. The trailer looks great and it seems like the storyline will be strong too.

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

Pakistanis who are interested in acting will themselves get up and volunteer for auditions, etc, once the film industry starts showing these films and people realize there is an audience for it. Just like Pakistani music videos at one time were home-made videos that people made on their personal video cameras in the 80's and 90's and that evolved into a full industry as you see it now. And then once Pakistani bands were getting recruited by India, you saw even more raw talent arise, because people wanted fame and money.

Once people see that the cinema is coming back, you'll see more and more people participate and it will grow, and soon, iA, it wont just be shaan, there will be plenty of new movie stars. Some of the performances in Waar seem to be really worth watching by the trailer, and some of those faces are totally new.

So, we'll see. But for now, I think they go with Shaan, because he is known and there are lots of poor people that like him and WILL come see his movies, so it's some guaranteed business.

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

Yes, pyaricigudia, lack of good movies has kept out the good talent which exist in Pakistan today. But this year many good movies is coming out so we hope the talent also brought to the big screen.

I believe Shaan has been unlucky to be part of this dead industry. Shaan has got some serious talent and skills and slso got the charisma to carry the superstar tag!

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

Seems promising.

What exactly is the title? Is it the peacock? or pashto moor (mother)?

Re: Moor - Film by Jami

Its the Pashto Moor (Mother).

This looks so raw and incredible!!! Balochistan looks simply breathtaking! :D and I love the fact that Samiya Mumtaz is in it too.

**Hameed Sheikh - when mountains speak, wise men listen

**

“I have always found Hollywood Westerners more relatable because their characters are very rugged, both in terms of nature and looks. Even the places in which the Westerners are set are quite similar to the look and feel of our province.”

**Interestingly, the actor regularly practices karate, horse riding and other intense physical training exercises to remain fit, but it all went in vain because **Moor demanded him to gain weight to look older. “It’s difficult to put on weight when you have maintained yourself all your life,” comments Sheikh laughingly. “Not only did I have to put on kilos [for the role], but also change my posture and the way I walk. After a long time, I have been given a genuinely challenging role.”

“I was shocked when Jami Mahmood told me that he is making a film on Balochistan and that too, on a matter very few people know about,” says Sheikh.

**He didn’t charge a dime for the film as he is optimistic that it is ventures like these through which more actors from the province can get a chance to showcase their talents.

****Sheikh on condition of artists in Balochistan:

**Despite these developments, the deteriorating situation of Balochistan irks Sheikh, and adding to the artistic woes is the recent demolishment of the Arts Council in Quetta. “Although the Balochistan Arts Council was acting more like a government office and less like a council for artistes, its recent demolition is a bad sign for local actors,” he laments. **“Since we don’t have a concept of guilds in Pakistan, I wonder where they [the artistes] will all go after this.” Sheikh is waiting for the release of his upcoming films and intends to create a guild or association for artistes from Balochistan before it is too late.
