A guy from Pakistan has developed this very scientific system of calculation to accurately predict birth of new moon.
Mind you birth of a new moon and its sighting are two different things. The moon might be born in the daylight hours therefore you cannot see it.
This guy accurately calculates the birth of new moon and then the exact time to let you know if you can see it or not then how is it possible that people can still see a moon although it is impossible to see it in certain countries of the world ?
He has gone to a length to recruit people from various parts of the world to submit reports of actual moon sightings which he publishes on his website. But even then if we cannot have consensus on when to celebrate Eid on same day that is beyond my comprehension.

I have no choice but to follow the announcement from the committee , because in our city almost all masajids have consensus and have formed this committee , therefore we do not have those phaddas yet. But they do not follow the guidelines from moonsighting.com and so many times have announced moon sighting when it was physically impossible to see moon in anywhere in North America. They do not believe in announcing Eid without getting moon sighting reports from their own sources. I never bothered to ask what are their sources.
