I'd say necklace. And something that'd be for everyday but still has that "wow" element. I don't know about a solataire necklace, I think a pendant with some sort of design might look better, but that's probably just me.
But try to figure out from her style what she would like the most. My suggestion for pendant is only if you have no clue. Oh and try asking her sister or close friend :-)
