Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

Well, I dont know about that. I mean, I have gotten full-sized products (NARS, Laura Geller, Zoya etc) and there have been a few products that I got which I ended up buying full-sizes of because they worked so well. I got another Laura Geller baked blush, Philosophy's Purity Cleanser, Khiel's oil-free moisturizer and of course the Ouidad hair "gel" for curly hair (which btw IS the best curls-product I have ever tried and the only product that defines my curls while still keeping them shiny and non-cruncy. And that too from just ONE product as opposed to a combo of 3-4) and all these products I would have never known about had it not been for Birchbox, which is what makes me not want to cancel right away.
>.< This was the only month which I was "meh" about it.

I'm going to give it a month or two and if I get any boxes which has products I could have gotten for free from a Sephora or the likes, I am def. cancelling.

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

I didn't manage to get the september glossy box because i didn't have sufficient funds in my account :( BROKE-ASS! but I'm sooo glad i didn't get it..and they also cancelled my account which I'm glad for..i didn't really like any boxes! it seemed like a good idea but wasn't in the end! I found no products that i liked considering i got 10 products. very disappointed considering how many people loved their products lol people are too easy to please haha

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

Did anyone order the October birchbox?
I didn't order cuz I wasn't too happy with the sept one, but I was looking at a Youtube review and it has some nice stuff. arghhhh lol. So did anyone like the stuff? Ordering full sizes?

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

I got a few good things but I had to put my subscription on hold since we’re moving soon.
I got:

I really like the Anastasia lipgloss and the Laura Geller Spackle primer, I had heard a lot about this. I’m wanting to try the Amika hair serum-oil, heard about this too and it does smell amazing. The mask and shampoo are just meh.

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

So I got mine last tuesday as well (ON TIME!) and I was actually happy then sent decent stuff this time, because this month's box was the decision maker to be still subscribed or not :D
Everyone's box that I have seen on youtube for october is different. Here is what I got:

-Laura Geller spackle Primer
- Ahava Bath Salts
-Ahave foot creme sample (really small lil satches)
- Stila Curl Mascara
- Pangae Organics Face Mask ( I've been getting their stuff for past 3 months, I like it)

Overall I like the products, Havent tried the salt yet, and gave the foot creme sample to my friend. Curling Mascara is fairly nice, but I wish It was waterproof, I have watery eyes, and it smudges everywhere. The primer is pretty good, gives a good glow to my face, but after a few hours, my face is a bulb!(blotting paper is very handy in this case). The face Mask is very refreshing, I am in love with this pangae organics brand, I want to keep getting samples on this brand. Now I'm excited for next month. I guess the complains have finally paid off! :p

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

Anyone signed up for MyGlam yet? Michelle Phan is one of the people involved in it...

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

^Me!

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

I cancelled my Birchbox subscription a long time ago and although this MyGlam sounds very tempting, the boxes have been sold out for the next month or so. Marwah, please post when you get yours!

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

^Will do :)

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

Yeah, I cancelled my Birchbox subscription too... only got it for 2 months but the samples were really boring unfortunately. I managed to sign up for MyGlam yesterday, they'd just opened up subscriptions again and I got lucky. Hope it's better than birchbox! :)

Re: Monthly makeup boxes (such an awesome concept!)

Is anyone still subscribed to these boxes?

I tried out Glossybox in September and October. I thought they were pretty good.. i have managed to make use out of most of the stuff I got :)
However, they increased their price from $15/month to $21/month in Canada so I didn't sign up for the November box.. will probably sign up for the December box because im hoping they'll give out extra special products for the holidays. Don't really know if I'll keep my subscription after that though.. i would rather use the $21 to get products of my choice.

I think Julep has some sort of monthly subscription service as well? Has anyone tried it out?
