Currently it is monsoon season here and showers in full swing right now.
If you have lived some part of your life in subcontinent you can understand the dynamics of this season. This is quite a unique season, with heat , humidity , showers, water on the street and more showers :rotato:
What are you most favorite activities during monsoon showers.
For me. I would like to get drenched while riding bike in the city. This is amazing experience. wandering on the street teemed with rained water, splashing around , getting splashed on your face. cool breeze with rainwater pricking your face.
This is an amzing movie. Beautifully portreyed the rainy season in subcontinent. The sweaty faces of actor, cloudy and humid days and night. apt sleeping arangements and last but not least the actors dancing in the rain at the end of movie. Simply superb
i miss monsoons. it rains here like crazy as well, but just doesn't feel the same.
we used to make pakoras and enjoy them while the light would go out. there used to be earthworms galore afterwards, and so as kids we used to put salt on them and see them shrivel up and eventually die. it was fun driving in huge lake sized puddles in the streets...but not so much for the parents. the worst bit was the frogs though. i do not like frogs. they would be everywhere!
I agree with khumar, the rain does not feel the same here (in North America).
I miss the smell of earth as Cantan... mentioned.
When we moved to the locality where I grew up in Karachi, there were hardly any houses around and plenty of land. Right after the rain, Beer Bahootiyan use to come out and we used to collect them.
I a sure most of you know what beer bahooti is .. its red, velvety textured, beetle shaped bug. Amazingly beautiful ..
