Money Transfer

Please would some one help me with this information

What are the various ways in which I can transfer money to some one in Lahore from London *(with very less cuttings) *? Where should I open account that the cut cost be the least?
Will opening a Foreign Currency Account here in Lahore, help me in any way?

depends how much you like to transfer, i use pakremit.com a service by national bank of Pakistan. My limit is 40000$ for two months with per transaction can't exceeded by 7500$. they charge interbank rates so currently its 86.50 for $ but in open market dollor is 89.50

I dont want to transfer that much but .. say I want to transfer in between Rs. 25k - 40k? i.e. around 300 GBP

I have used western union in the past but now i use a new company called UAExchange. There are no fees whatsoever and the conversion rate is on par with western union or better. Money can be picked up from a number of banks in pakistan. I’m not sure if they have branches in UK but I suspect they would, given the large number of pakistanis in UK.

I have an account with MCB & and with Alfalah as well. I like the free of cost options if they are safe enough. What's the point of a Foreign Currency Account or an account at say Barclays in London, in such a scenario?

U can send thru Moneygram bcoz i think Western Union is now banned in Pakistan.

Zarko waley saley buhat kaoti kerty han Western Union is the best I guess But WU ki fees 10 to 15 hai jab ke Zarko ki 3 dollars thi aj se teen sal pehly magar dollar exchange rate was to low Magar ab ka pat nahi woh import export ka karobar hi kahtam hu giya :hinna:

I don't think that is true ... I sent some money a few days ago to Pakistan on Western Union.

So now they have lift the banned as some months back Pakistan Govt stopped their activities in Pakistan.

Shan Travel in Southall do no commission on transfers over £50 ... but you will need to give them your various details to set up an account.
