What is the difference.

I know that Mona Sikhs are those who practices certain aspects of Sikhism and don’t follow others like not cutting hair (K for Kesh). So a clean shave Jagjeet Singh was a mona Sikh. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Just read about Sodhi Sikhs and there is just one line about them 'Sodhi Sikh Ameer bhi hote hain aur Bahadur bhi '. Sodhi Sikhs are rich and brave.

I think, @the_kaur might know something about that, but again anyone from India might got the answer.

Another question, is the tradition of Amrit Chakhna still followed in all Sikh families?

7 out of 10 gurus were Sodhi, from Guru Ramdas to Guru Gobind singh.

So this saying might have come from there :)

How Sodhi Sikhs were rich? I mean did they belong to elite class like Rajputs, etc?

Yes, it is still followed, it is as good as baptism by Chiristians :)

How it is performed? Heard that 5 Batashas are important ingredients to perform this.

^^^ Never witnessed one ever. So have to ask elders to know how it is performed, I witness Brahmin janeou thing recently though :D

BTW, what does Janeou symbolise? Is it that kala doriya custom?
