Re: Moms 2014

Ooh September what lucymay? I think a few of us are expecting September kiddos iA.

Re: Moms 2014

Thanks ladies!
SGC - Sep 6th. what about you?

Re: Moms 2014

SGC is it ur first baby or second. Congrats to all expecting mums.

Re: Moms 2014

^ second

i’m either september 3rd if baby is big again and its a planned C, or otherwise EDD is september 22nd iA.

Re: Moms 2014

September baby here too!! But September 1st so probably in August iA

Re: Moms 2014

LucyMay we have the same EDD!!! 6th SEPTEMBER… AHHHHHHHH!!! Lol

I hope baby comes whenever she is ready inshAllah, but… if I could choose I’d prefer her to be born in August. Because the UK academic year starts 1st September so if she is born afterwards she’ll have to wait a whole year before she can start school, and then she’ll be the eldest in her class too :frowning: being an August baby I always loved being the youngest in my class.

anyways I am not stressing too much - Allah knows best and I am alhamdolilah super happy with everything!

Re: Moms 2014

^^ Wow that’s cool! I had not thought of school-admission-age though.. well, I’ll wait till later to stress about that hehe :cb:

Re: Moms 2014

I bought a sandwich from Greggs (they claim their stuff is freshly made every day) but I got food poisoning :frowning: I’m 21 weeks now mashAllah and was just starting to show, but now my bump has gone right back down again because of weight loss. Worried :bummer:

Anyone had food poisoning in pregnancy before, and how did you handle it? The doc said she can’t give me anything to make it better because of the pregnancy, so she said just wait it out. I’m on day 4… :frowning:

Re: Moms 2014

try honey. it will flush out system faster.

Re: Moms 2014

What do you guys eat for breakfast lunch and dinner? Are you guys eating healthy? I am just all over the place. I don’t want to eat the healthy alternatives and I’ve already put on lots of weight. Also I was a regular tea drinker. I gave it up for a little while but I feel my breakfast isn’t complete without it. What can I substitute for it? Or is it ok if I just have a cup everyday.

Re: Moms 2014

You can have tea, but just make sure you limit your total caffeine intake to around 200 mg per day. Tea contains caffeine, but in a lower amount than coffee. Chocolates, energy drinks, and some sodas also contain caffeine. See the link below for caffeine content in common foods and drinks:

Caffeine and pregnancy: what’s safe? - BabyCentre

My Ob/Gyn told me that 1-2 cups of tea a day is not a problem. If you’re still worried, avoid steeping the tea for too long because the longer you steep, the more caffeine is released.

Re: Moms 2014

Aww I’m so sorry! All I can offer is drink plenty of fluids so you don’t get dehydrated and the bad stuff gets flushed out quickly. Try light stuff like chicken soup, veggie soup, dals etc.
Feel better soon :flower1:

Re: Moms 2014

Thanks Demi and LucyMay - I actually tried homeopathy and I am really surprised it worked within a few hours!! All better now alhamdolillah

Zabarjud: I’m not eating anything particularly healthy either :frowning: everyone keeps telling me milk and fruit, milk and fruit; I’m not even doing that! I do try to drink more milk… but I don’t like any fruits. Other than that I’m eating roti salans, pastas, fish and veggies, along with loadsssss of chocolates every day. Not particularly healthy, just my everyday diet lol.

Re: Moms 2014

I’m just eating what I normally eat (minus my fave deli turkey :frowning: ), drink a big cup of tea every morning to ease my horrible headaches. But I’m trying to stay active too.

Re: Moms 2014

I can’t drink fluids especially water by itself. I can only take it with a meal. Same thing with fruits, I get nauseated and start vomiting. Even though everyone tells me to eat fruits and veges but my stomach simply won’t accept it.

Re: Moms 2014

Listen to your body. I’ve only just started being able to eat properly and some things are still off the list. Oranges, for eg… guaranteed barf city. Your baby will get the nutrition it needs. Just make sure you are taking your multivitamins/prenatals so that you don’t suffer post partum.
