'Moments' of the Series

There were many of those in the series, particularly in the Karachi Test.
Lets re live those moments

My favorite moment of the series was:

2nd test
Younis patting Farhat after he dropped Sehwag’s catch in the slips…
Farhat not only caught Sehwag in the slips later on, but he followed that with superd fielding throughout the game. He also got to make a comeback in the team as an opener and delivered in the second innings.

Whats your fav. moment?

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

Shewag dumbfounded when he got out in the 2nd inning, test 3.

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

Shoaib Akhtar's bouncer that hit the little master, someone's god, modern era Bradman, etc. right smack on the grill. The helmet was slightly skewed but Sachin TenTwentyKar was too distraught to fix it. He later walked hurrily to the pavillion for tewnty three.

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

Suchin being a great batsman scored a single even by using his head! more practice and he could head these bouncers for 4!! lol

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

<FUNGUY> The blow was on the helmet itself and not the grill.

Best Moment for me would have to be Faisal Iqbal's maiden test ton, followed by the perfect celebration. Then at the end of the day's play, ground staff shaking hands with him whilst the players made their way towards the pavilion. With him being a local lad, that was a special moment no doubt.

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

My Moment of the series was Dravid's dismissal in the first innings....i think asif came into the series with big hype and he had to do something special to prove it....and it doesnt egt more special than getting Dravid out in ur second over.

Re: ‘Moments’ of the Series

asif dismissing “the little master” sachin poor guy fell on his knees :hehe:

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

the little badmash more like

Re: ‘Moments’ of the Series

1 more:faisal’s reaction n celebration after taking that catch :hehe:

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

There have been numerous incidents to report in this category. Few of them have been mentioned by the guppies. My personal favorites are the following:

1) Afridi/Younis sharing the new ball.

2) "One more I got one more naa?" As Afridi queried the umpire who reportedly gave two no-balls.

3) All the wicket-taking deliveries of Mohammad Asif. A beauty they were. A dozen of them were also kittens' whisker away from the stumps, and speaking on the same note, I do also remember a magical slower delivery by Shoaib (at the end of Day 1, I believe), which was a straight yorker outside the off-stump, and almost missed both the bat and the stumps.

4) Razzaq dismissing Tendulkar. The expressions that I saw on his face as soon as the ball hit the wicket confirmed that he had no idea of who he just clean-bowled, but after a couple of moments (as we witnessed his 'real' expressions), he remembered it was Tendulkar and returned with that priceless look on his face.

5) Kamran Akmal saving the match with his brilliant knock. I am sure most of the guppies here were either too busy cursing the team half to death, or were constantly praying for a magical comeback. :)

More as I remember.

Re: ‘Moments’ of the Series

^^there isnt any moment in this series which is forgettable, not even wen pak were 39/6 i mean this is wat made them fight back like tigers :jhanda:

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

This is very very odd and you guys would be thinking I am just BS'ing but I actually enjoyed Irfan Pathan's hatrick at Karachi. I was actually anticipating he would get it when Yoyo stepped in. I had this calm and cool exposure that late evening watching it on TV. I think it was because of the complete domination of bat over ball for the previous ten days of test cricket... I said to myself...we have a game on. And it sure stayed ON for four days. I love test cricket.

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

^^i half heartedly enjoyed it too,i was so tired of younis n yousuf piling runs that i was really glad they got out on 0 :yawn

Re: ‘Moments’ of the Series

chal jhooti kaheen ki :mocking:

Re: ‘Moments’ of the Series

Guys please lets also include indian moments of the match too.

–How about that catch of the series.. Yuvraj caught Younis Khan at backward point. That was one hell of a catch!!

–HAHAHAHA dhobi bhai i remember that one LOL!! Man that was hillarious hahahaha afridi is cheeky enough to protest to bowl one more bouncer LOOOOL :omg:

–How about Arun LOL’s “I heard two sounds there” :hehe:

–When the ball was travelling towards Rudi Koertzen at square leg he bent down as if he was going to pick it up but instead he let the ball go through and started scratching his leg instead :omg: Meanwhile Sachin who was standing behind him thought Rudi was actually going to pick the ball up so he eased up but then he realized the ball is still travelling :rotfl:

–Akmal coming down the pitch awkwardly in two minds to Kumble’s bowling and Dhoni missed an easy stumping chance. Rameez: Akmal had been batting well until he had that blonde moment there..

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

My most memorable moment has been Asif upping Laxman's middle stump. It was a heck of a delivery. Runner up being Asif upping Tendi's off-stump.

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

For me the best moment and feeling was when Asif blew Sehwag middle stump in 2nd inning. I can't get enough of watching that ball...no not just that ball but that whole over...wish him all the best.

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

Mine too... !!! And other one was Yosuf's bowled out in first inning...
Both of them great deliveries.

Re: 'Moments' of the Series

good collection so far :)

I got a few more

  • Afridi telling Akmal that he will hit Harbajan for 6 sixes... and Akmal's reply "Good Luck Shahid Bhai"
  • The huddle after every wicket by our team. Boycott's favorite was "Shoaib hitting Tendulkar's Helmet"

Honorable mentions

  • Faisal Iqbal running to the boundary two times with his Helmet on
  • Kaneria's ball chases on the ground... looks like he is auditioning for a bollywood role , particularly for a scene in which he is running after the 'Gundaas' to save the lead actress.

Re: ‘Moments’ of the Series

Lol Mr Genius those are funny ones :hehe:

Heres a quote from from Geoffery Boycott: *Razzak has two modes of play, slow and fantastic!

*Another quote from an interview.
Dean Jones: So shoaib are you an allrounder now?
Shoaib (sarcastically): Since the day i was born! (both have a good laugh) :hehe:

Sincerely,
Captain Lota
