How old was the child when the father removed her from France? What year was the child taken? This can’t be recent as the mother had to go through the Government and then the Pakistani court system which, I am guessing, took at least 3 or 4 years.

I am trying to find a non-Pakistani article on this but I can’t. I say non-Pakistani (meaning European or French) because the Pakistani articles seem to lack a lot of important information pertaining to the questions I asked above.

Burger said the petitioner had “secretly” brought the girl to Pakistan in 2005 after she had been granted the child’s custody by a French court. She said she had then filed another custody case in a family court in Pakistan, where again she was granted the custody. Razzaq’s appeal against the order was dismissed in 2008, but he still did not let go and in 2009 filed a petition before the LHC seeking court directions in his favour.

So for nearly 7 years the girl has been kept away from her mother. She was taken away from her mother when she was 4 years old. What must it have been like for a 4 year old girl to be taken to a foreign place where she does not get to see her mother? She was not an 11 year old then - she was 4. Frankly, if any of you have kids, you will see a huge problem with this.

The father not only broke the law in France, but breached a court order issued in Pakistan as well.

If the issue is now about the fact that the girl is going to become Christian, the father should have thought about that before moving to France and shaking up with a French woman and creating a child with her. He also should have thought about what Islam says about taking a 4 year old child away from her mother, by force.

I found it interesting that the 11 year old is saying that she doesn’t want to go with a “white” woman. Did the father and her other care takesr bother to teach her that she herself is half-white and NOTHING can change that?

I also find it unbelievable that the “loving” father isn’t there consoling his daughter. I’ve seen custody battles where one side loses and the kids completely freak out (just like in this situation). I’ve also seen the “losing parents” put aside his/her own feelings and CONSOLE the child and help the child understand that despite the court ruling and change in the child’s enviornment…and the child will remain safe and he/she will be well-taken care of by the other parent. Despite the legal issues…where is the father in this situation HELPING his daughter remain calm?!

The father was selfish when he abducted the daughter. And now he’s being selfish by hiding while his daughter is being put on public display for all to discuss. This entire matter could’ve been handled different if he had chosen to put his daughter’s needs first and work WITH the biological mother instead of making the mother his enemy.
