I also find it unbelievable that the “loving” father isn’t there consoling his daughter. I’ve seen custody battles where one side loses and the kids completely freak out (just like in this situation). I’ve also seen the “losing parents” put aside his/her own feelings and CONSOLE the child and help the child understand that despite the court ruling and change in the child’s enviornment…and the child will remain safe and he/she will be well-taken care of by the other parent. Despite the legal issues…where is the father in this situation HELPING his daughter remain calm?!

The father was selfish when he abducted the daughter. And now he’s being selfish by hiding while his daughter is being put on public display for all to discuss. This entire matter could’ve been handled different if he had chosen to put his daughter’s needs first and work WITH the biological mother instead of making the mother his enemy.

LAHORE, Feb 17: Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik of the Lahore High Court on Friday handed over an 11-year-old girl to her French mother.The court passed the order on a petition filed by French national Ingrid Branden Burger who sought custody of her daughter, Amina.Earlier, the police produced the girl before the court after recovering her from the custody of her father. Amina’s grandfather and uncle were also present in court.Weeping bitterly, the girl refused to go with her mother but the court ordered to hand over the girl to her mother.Ingrid Branden submitted that she married a Pakistani, Abdul Razzaq, in France and a girl, Amina, was born to her. However, after some time the relations between them did not remain cordial and eventually she was divorced but Razzaq returned to Pakistan and illegally took the girl along with him, she said.She pointed out that a French court had already granted ruling in her favour regarding the girl’s custody.The petitioner submitted that a local guardian court of Mandi Bahauddin also decided the case in her favour but Razzaq went into hiding along with the girl.She pleaded that directions be issued to recover the girl and her custody be handed over to her.The LHC also upheld the previous decisions and ordered to hand over the girl to her mother.Razzaq could not appear before the court as he was hospitalised.—AP
