it's really sad and Geo I agree with Sheen is the biggest promoter of Indian programs and culture.
Recently they had a news clip on one of the news channel where the parents (mom) was letting her kids watch Indian soaps on Star and the kids were playing with dolls and her little boy was saying things "abhi saath phere laingay" and "yeh ladki maa bannay waali hai" while playing w/ the toys. And the Mom was COMPLETELY ok with that. She told the news reporter that she wants her kids to learn things that she cannot teach them.
Where is that ser peetnay wala icon?

ughhh this was so painful to watch and now i know why i watch Indian movies and not Pakistani movies/programs. Why do people complain so much? Why can't people do or watch whatever they want?

^ Humi the point is that Pakistani channels should show Pakistani programs just like Indian channels or American channels or British channels show programs that are local to their country/region.
If people want to watch Star Plus soaps and award shows and Indian movies, then they can watch Indian channels for that. I don't have a problem with that. But channels like Geo need to stop showing the same darn shows during its prime time slots.
same here. I 'm fed up of their aman ki asha crap too. hamare channels apne artists ko chor ke indians ke peeche lage huay hain who have a very condescending attitude towads pakistan. our channels are so anti-national they give preference to indian content over pakistani because they pay them more money. and then we complain oh why is our industry down!

Moin Akhtar is spot on, I think channels such as Geo and ARY are highly responsible for the loss of identity in Pakistan. Hour-long magazine shows are dedicated to mediocre Bollywood films, the hourly news headlines also feature stuff about Bollywood stars…it’s nauseating.
Talking of disgusting things, please take a look at how India TV channels portray Pakistani’s:

Why can't Pakistan just ban all Indian crap especially movies and tv serials. Too much Indianization is coming to the youth of Pakistan. We are losing our own identity by learning new hindi words and idolizing Katrina Kaif or Ranbir Kapoor.
Because if they ban the indian serials and films then a part of the Pakistani population will die right there.

Completely banning it will backfire, after all, people do not like being forced to do something.
Channels need to reduce the Bolly worship. If they to give their viewers a healthy dose of ‘international’ cinema and entertainment then that is fine as long as other cultures are equally being represented. Why is it that magazine shows never review Iranian and European cinema?
There should be a quota on the amount of films allowed in Pakistan whilst every effort should be made to exhibit the best of our culture via films in India.
An equal exchange should be made with India. I would like to see our dramas shown on Indian television b/c lets face it, our sophistication, dialogue, tackling of bold issues and crisp execution of dramas will wow the average Indian.
Finally media personalities who show signs of being crazy about India should be under the watchful gaze of the ISI. Lol i’m kidding but seriously hate it when Javed Sheikh, Meera and Nadia Khan types go gaga over India!

Not a bad idea to carry out a long march - just like we halped restore judiciary - to ban bollysh!t from Pakistan & only reinvent, finance & promote Lollywood.
But is anwer maqsood aware of how many trips of india his own son has made for his singing career? loose talk scripts are written by anwer maqsood himself, right? so how about preaching to his own son what he says on his show?

This is just some of the the work he's done for the Indian industry (according to a 5 min glance at wiki). There is no point in reaping the monetary benefits from an industry and then later boycotting that very industry when the truth is that they no longer need you.

I agree with you here. As long as things are being done in moderation and there is an equal exchange from both sides I do not have a problem with that.
