Re: Mohsin & Sons Rawalpindi/ fashion ka ghar - Any experience?
Okay, so I went in April/May this year.
Fashion ka ghar: agree with what the other poster said, their samples were in tatters and not nice looking. Also, after shopping around in Islamabad and chandni chawk in pindi, I didn't think the stuff in Fashion ka ghar was that great anyway - some of their formal wear right at the top of the shop looked like it was about 10 years old. Overpriced, and not great style. Wouldn't recommend.
Now, Mohsin Sons in Pindi. Oh Em Gee. STAY AWAY! Okay, so here is my story. I went in there because EVERYONE recommended to get my bridal from there. They treat you really nicely when you go in - sit you down, offer you a drink, sometimes offer you food haha. Their bridals were okay. Nothing amazing. I had an idea of what I wanted, and showed a picture to them - they said they can't copy. So I was like okay, show me what you have. I didn't really like any of their suits, but really felt the pressure to make an order cus the guy just wouldn't give up, so in the end opted for this dress that they'd made for another customer, but thought I'd change the colours (I took pics of it and can post if you want?). Anyway, so we finalised the colours and agreed a price (I thought it was way overpriced but agreed in the end), and paid them a deposit. I left feeling kind of uncomfortable cus I wasn't 100% happy with the jorra. So after talking with other family members and sleeping on it, I decided I really wasn't happy and wanted to cancel the order. Word of advice - never ever EVER do this with Mohsin Sons. We went back there, and the guy who we made the deal with was SO batameez, I have never seen anyone so rude. We didn't even ask for the deposit back - I agreed to by a jorra from them (zabardasti se) for that money - they weren't losing out on any money. But the guy was way too rude and refusing to cancel the order. He said I had to choose something else from their bridal collection (and I hated everything else). Long story short, another worker (his name is Adnan - very nice guy!) helped us out and finally got the guy to cancel the bridal. The thing is, as a bride you want your dress to be perfect. And with Mohsin Sons, if you decide to change your mind, you will have to go through hell and back to get them to listen to you. So for formal wears, go to Adnan in Mohsin Sons pindi, (he had the best designs, fairly reasonable prices, and he helped me when I was crying :( ) but STAY AWAY FROM THEIR BRIDALS because 1) they are ugly and 2) if you change your mind they will NOT treat you nicely
also, Mohsin Sons have a SEPARATE charge for stitching (on top of the suit) and are generally overpriced compared to all other shops in chandni chawk which have lovely designs :)
any questions, feel free to ask. will try and post pics later
