People have been putting Muhammad before the names of their sons in Pakistan for a long time. None of them call their sons by this name. It seems to me that it is an excuse to have the name in wiriting and not having to actually call their children by that name.

If you want to call a baby Muhammad ...which is a beautiful name .... then call him Muhammad, otherwise having Muhammad there and only calling him by his second name only goes as far as the papers. If you want to call him Ali then ... his name is Ali son of [Father's name] otherwise if you have a family name or zaat name then use that but having a prefix name that you will never call ... it is not fair to that name.

ji aap bula to sakti hen bagher Muhammad ke naam ke bhi agar aap bachay ka naam Muhammad rakh ke sath koi aur naam bhi laga len lekin choonke Muhammad naam ki fazeelat bhi bohot hai to apko Muhammad ke sath dusra koi bhi naam se bulana chaahiye jis se apko uska naam bulanay ke sath sath swab bhi milta rahey ga kiunke apki niyyat ye hogi keh choonke Humaray nabi(SAW) ka naam bhi Muhammad hai, isliay mein bhi bachay ko sath isi naam se pukaarun gi. so, koi bhi naam sath Muhammad laga ker rakha aur bola jaey to ye ziada behter bhi hai aur swaab ka kaam bhi.
