There could be nothing more ‘political’ than English players wearing Help for Heroes band. Helping soldiers fighting arguably the most vehemently opposed and hated imperial invasions (Iraq and Afghanistan - and I’m talking domestically here)

If raising awareness for wounded *soldiers *is not political, then raising awareness to save massacred civilians is a genocidal conflict is not political either.
