If it was because of a certain post. Wouldn’t it be easier to just edit or delete the post instead of ending a discussion by closing the thread?

Yes , Your thread was closed due to your own post and if you would like to continue the discussion you may rephrase the question without quoting other members views and citing them as "ridiculous" !

Also, what If i would have called out that person in the thread from where his original post was quoted from and called his comment there ridiculous (I think I called him a troll in that thread anyway)? Would have made it a difference? Are we here to discuss or to hold hands and tell each other how great we are?
This discussion could go on and on , thank you for pointing out about Mod notes while locking threads , we will certainly keep that in mind next time if the reason isn’t self -explanatory !
