I think Mirch expects people to discuss Shakespeare's literature, how to solve the food crisis, discuss whether there is life on Mars, and all those other issues in cafe. Sorry Mirch dude.

Sorry for my misunderstanding I was thinking the mods. were there to keep the flooder in check and keep the thread on track.
I am very very sorry for having such a naive notion. Silly me.
You can close and delete this thread. very very sorry again.
I am also sorry to all other flooders whose feelings got hurt due to my naive notion.

I am sorry Arshad I did not know that there is a quota on GS for opening threads in feedback forum. This is my last thread in feed back forum I have found out hard way that it does not help at all anyways so what is the use of me hitting my head against the wall.

Mods are more facilitators than policemen in new look GS. Flooding is the life and blood of Cafe and without it will be dead.

Article 2 in the policy sticky thread in Cafe: "Flooding' is considered a serious waste of services provided by Gupshup. Therefore, guppies "cannot" reply consecutively three (3) or more times. Also, posting smilies only is considered flooding, please avoid flooding."

As far as I can see in that thread, nowhere has one person posted three posts consecutively. And only once has a moderator posted a 'single smilie' post. However, under the proposition "The moderators would like to keep a hands-off approach to keep the momentum of Café running smoothly." (which can also be found in the aforementioned thread) this single event is waived as being considered flooding

let me also take this opportunity to kindly remind you of instances in GS history when persons opening multiple 'useless' threads in Feedback Forum as perceived by those who have to respond to these threads (!), has led to a temporary ban of those persons from posting in Feedback Forum. The main aim of this ban was not only to save GS resources, but also to give those persons some time for self-reflection and enlightment, which would lead to a catharsis and subsequently to less useless threads

thanks nes.replying from my cell. mirch. as nescio pointed. flooding is considered 3 consecutive replies by one person. I.e to post 3 replies to say I love you, rather than one reply. u r not the only one, many more don't know the def. of flooding. having a conversation is not flooding.now, posts with smilies only: clarification on that. you cannot open thread to post a smiley only. as far as REPLIES with smilies only, that is allowed. if someone says something funny and the next person just posts :D only, that's fine. if a few people post nothing but smilies only, that is also discouraged.hope everything is clear now.

that is what café is about. people come to café to talk about just anything they come there to relax. they can talk about anything in any thread because café threads do not stick to discussion topics because the people of café find that unattractive. for serious discussion there are forums like health, religion , science, world, and entertainment etc. threads are monitored more there. as long as the poster understands that he will not find serious replies in café and the thread will go off topic, they can talk about anything as long as the environment is clean. I.e in your example thread, the poster doesn't seem worried with the derailing because she was expecting this when she opened the thread.
