I wish some people would get the thought out of their minds that Mods think they’re better than others. If anything, I think we’ve got it a bit worse than other members. Sure, we’ve got more ‘power’ (more like ‘buttons to click’) but think about the concept as a whole.
Mods have a duty to keep the forum a clean and fun environment for everyone. In essence:
We’re janitors.
We clean up the trash in the forums. We get our hands dirty for the sake of everyone. What I mean is, we have people hate/dislike us because we warned them or locked their threads, when we’re doing it to make the forum a better place. I don’t personally know all the Mods here, and I don’t even know if the rest of them agree with me on this concept, but I honestly believe that Mods are just like trashpeople. (No, I’m not complaining . I don’t mind spending a few minutes here and there to fix up the forum a little).
That doesn’t mean we don’t have time to screw around and ‘flood’ and open threads and stuff. I spend (on average) about 3 minutes of my time in total to take any “Mod actions”. It takes but 5 seconds to remove a thread that’s inappropriate or that advertises - something none of us want.
In conclusion, I’d just like to remind you all that Mods are members, too. We just walk around with a trashbag handy .
