Firstly a very warm Ramzan Mubarak to all of you. May you all have a blessed month.

Secondly please note a few changes:

  • You can now use ‘mentions’ on GS, essentially use an @ shak without spaces and the person you have mentioned will get a notification
  • Like twitter you can use hashtags e.g. #gschangesballey](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=gschangesballey) and it will show up on the hashtag tab on the right side of your screen where you will see other trending hashtags as well. Please note it takes time for that list to be updated
  • You can now tag people in threads as well
  • GS lag has also been fixed

You can configure the settings for all of the above i.e. whether you wish to receive all of the notifications for the above on GS and on your e-mails etc. You can find the settings for all of the above here:

Its no biggie, just some fun little things and add ons. Personally I love them.

"Other Sports" is still missing from the direct link on right side column under "Entertainment"

shak, i hate to receive email notification for every quotation. is there a way to disable this unnecessary notification by email? thanks

Props to everyone involved. Thank you folks for all the thankless hours you spend on an ongoing basis. This spirit of volunteerism that fosters community spirit is highly appreciated. From what I understand Mr. Akzar spends his own nickel to keep this site running. That is amazing.

Special mention to Shak for excellent leadership. And to teggy for showing us his kinder side.

A big hand to all the senior, middle level and junior members of the Gupshup Administration.

The lag was really annoying me, to a point I haven't posted as much as I wanted but the pages seem to be flipping pretty quickly now.

I second Southie and would like to add a special thanks to the moderators. Often we discuss sensitive and emotional issues where people get charged up and say things we wouldn't in real life. The moderators chime in, and control the conversation just enough to have a free flow of ideas while keeping the problem makers and miscreants at bay. Keep up the good work.
