Modest Prom Dresses

Hi there

I haven’t browsed this forum at all, and I don’t have time to do so, So I don’t know what kind of designers are on here, and what kinda dresses they’d be able to make ..

The annual science ball in our college is coming up soon. The last time I wore a pishwas to it but this time I want to wear a western evening dress… modest ofcourse! There are plenty of websites that sell evening dresses at a reasonable price, and they are gorgeous! The only problem is that they are way too revealing for me… sleeveless or deep neck or knee-length or backless etc etc etc…

Are there any designers here who would be able to send me pics of some of their evening dresses (western style)? Or can u guys suggest any website from which I can order one??

I will contact the designer and give more details on the style/colour/design I want… its not going to be anything complicated.

In my opinion, if you want to wear a western style evening dress best to buy one locally and make it hijab friendly like Arab girls do.

Go for pak designers if you want a desi style outfit, some are quite dress like.

hmm I know I can buy one and then make alterations to it but I would need spare fabric for that.. There are a few websites where you can place an order according to your needs but then I don't really trust such websites...

I am going to look around for dresses in local shops during easter holidays and hopefully i can find something suitable... otherwise I'll stick with a desi dress, if no one here is able to make a modest prom dress either

Find a nice full length evening gown, and wear a bolero on it.

Forgot to mention that I don't know of a shop in Ireland that sells spare, loose fabric!

Seriously like, I've never heard of one! You guys in the UK are so lucky!!

if you can wear eastern dress like pishwas, may be u can also think about wearing a decent saree. no ?

well a saree is too indian and too odd to wear during a ball... the pishwas kinda fit in, it looks kinda like a dress, except with trousers....

Last one maybe can be worn at a ball. The first two - you will be underdressed for sure.

oh well just wear a hijab & you are allowed to wear anything underneath. Hijab makes everything modest & justifies all immodest clothes for UK chicks of course. Double standards.

Have your tried Monsoon? They are in Ireland aswell im sure no? Or online! They do nice dresses which you could easily adapt with a bolero or hijaab etc
