It depends, are you just going for a quick cycle around the block, a long cycle, or mountain biking?
For long distance cycling, the main things you want is clothing that:
=> is comfortable
=> does not flap around in the wind
=> does not ride up when cycling
=> trouser fabric that will not get stuck in the gears
=> keeps you cool
I realise that wearing fitted clothing may not be considered "modest", but when you are long cycling, wearing a form-fitted outfit is a must, to prevent flapping and wind drag, so it's for your own safety. It is also recommended that you wear monochromatic items of clothing, so as to not distract drivers.
Also, try purchasing clothing that is specifically made for cycling, as cycling clothes help get rid of perspiration so you stay cool, whereas if you wore normal clothing, you'd get all damp and clammy.
For long cycling, i usually wear:
=> Black cycling leggings or fitted trousers
=> Fitted tank top if it's warm, else a T shirt
=> Cycling jersey (these different to mountain bike jerseys, as the latter are not as fitted).
However, if you're just going for a cruise around the block, then i usually just wear cargo pants and a T :)
(Also, don't forget your gloves, sunglasses, non cotton athletic socks, decent cycling shoes, and helmet etc.)

Thanks for help guys so far....
I'm not comfortable with wearing tights....may be a knee lenght skirt over the tights. Would it look okay?

I think if you were to wear a skirt, it would cause flapping and you’d get wind drag. The best thing would be to wear some trousers, like these. What do you think?

:hmmm: I think it would give you limited leg movement as well… i 'm not going to condone skirt wearing for cycling, but you can try it?.. :bummer:
Trousers, you can buy from Endura or Decathlon… also try your local “outdoorsy” stores (like Blacks) … I bought the Endura ones from this website.

the joggers are usually loose and i wear a hoody on top. Its not too bad wearing it whilst cycling.
I went camping a little while back and to get around the resort we had to use our bicycles coz obviously it was a forest. I was in skinny jeans/ jogging bottoms/ dresses. Always wore trainers tho.
Honestly i thought that it would be difficult cycling but it really wasnt’ at all.
And may i just add i wasn’t doing light cycling i was going up and down muddy hills the lot!

I don't go out in shalwar kameez even in our car...let alone cycling.
