Modern/Traditionalist/Fundamental Islam.

As salamu alikum

This is something I have obsolutely no opinion on :stuck_out_tongue: Now instead of pointing names, I will try to summarize my observations of the mentioned ‘thought processes’

the fundamentalistic approach i.e. a return to the roots, I can not help but notice that this is practised in those nations (not naming any) which have little or no concern with the rest of the world… and, the people have no sense of personal freedom.

Modern viewpoint. i dont have a very high regard for this thought as it involves giving up some of what is actually a part of islam. (imo)

Traditionalistic.. the brainwashed viewpoint.. having little or no inclination towards personal research, but silently following what has been learnt from parents/mullahs etc.

i dont understand why its not possible for educational progress to be made by those who follow the fundamentalistic viewpoint, or why does the modern viewpoint feel it necessary to sacrifice important beliefs to satisfy their surroundings.

As already stated, this is just my understanding, feel free to disagree and correct me. Much of this is a generalization but a quick look tells us that many muslim nations/groups belong strongly to either one. Do state what are your thoughts about the best approach towards a system which sacrifices neither the religion nor does it hamper the progress of the nation with regards to other nations.

Something to ponder upon while writing a response

ofcourse the words fundamental islam/ modern islam and whatever u come up with r just ur own opinions....

Quran 5:3
This day have I perfected your religion for you completed my favor upon you and have chosen for you **Islam* as your religion.*

Allah never mentioned whether it was modern or traditional Islam, it was just purely Islam....

so dont try to get urself equipped with the terms coined by anti-Islamic media....

armughal. not by media but just looking at those who claim to follow islam, you can spot out these different ideologies. i have not said whether each is a part of islam or a separate sect.

i still regard it as a stupid terminology....

from what i see, either a muslim follows Islam, or he is a hypocrite who shows off to be a muslim but his heart wont agree to it....
maybe u refer to the former as fundamentalists and the latter as modern/moderate muslims....
