Hypothetical situation. Lets say you are selected as a moderator/admin and in a moment of insanity you have said yes to the offer, so what changes would you bring to Paklinks. Select a section and tell us how would you make it a better place. Put yourself in administrator’s shoe and give your opinion based on admin’s perspective, not user’s.

ill bcome mod of chat n every month wld make sumone a sub mod(not wid all the responsibilites but some basic ones) someone regular so tht wen im not there they can takecare of the chat..it wld motivate ppl to come on the chat more n giving ppl even a lil reponsibility wld make them wiser :) acha idea hai na hint ;)

par logon kai sharafat kai paiMaanai mukhtalif hotey hain, kuch khaandanon mai bahu sussr aor daiwar sai bhi parda karti hain aor kuch khandanoun mai isko daqyanoosi samjha jata hai. aap kyo sharamsaar hote hain iss per, jab unki apni deedon ka pani mar gya hai!

some ppl from real life, hmmm ....like few wise women..who have proven record... and one dude(pm---its my idea so I need to read all masaladar stuff) should have assumed id, who ever have a real issue should come to that room with assumed Id to seek "real advice" from those selected ppl.
I am a BIG fan of many ppl on GS, we should utilize them to guide ppl who are dumb like bricks.

bro, i did that for a purpose. i know no one will agree with me and i wanted to adress u in a way...coz u seem to have good grasp of urdu language.

There's alot of mudslinging going in in WA/PA/Military affairs. Mods should intervene & clean threads/issues warnings & infractions/ban members early enough so that threads don't degenerate.
And policies regarding insulting other members/using bad language/trolling etc. should be transparent and their implementation should be objective leaving no room for errors/subjectivity on the mods part.
*P.S. Have a clear policy regarding India Pak i.e. is it okay to insult (a) India & not Pak, (b) both Pak & India (c) neither; are Indian posters (a) welcome on the forum, (b) unwanted (in that case better to ban as soon as you find out that a poster is Indian). *
India-Pak discussions tend to get heated. Maybe having a couple of Indian mods might help in creating a much more balanced environment for discussion.

I don't know what I'd change. Over the years, GS has developed a lot and most of it is pretty positive stuff. Its really cool that we have such an awesome project for the Pakistani community, because there are few venues, whether online or offline, for pakistanis to meet and talk.
I might try and make it more folksy, and have different names for some of the forums, but that might make it into that other website with articles and discussion - chowk.com?
I'd add in a weekly newsletter or magazine, something that can even be emailed out - it will spread and add more members to the site, because even though GS is HUGE, there are a lot of Pakistanis who don't know about it.
Also, I'd probably do some real life advertising - like have blogger meetings (which karachi metro blogs does), and have tables at different fairs like ISNA, etc.
