Sitting in America I couldn’t realize the impact of mobile phone on Pakistani society . Every other person is carrying it , and its very easy to afford it . Even you can see maids (maasi) , using jharoo with one hand and talking on the phone holding with the other . Other day we caught a servant climbing in to another house , to see his *date *(maasi) . Apparently they were well connect via mobile phone . A lot of people told me that mobile phone is one of the major causes for extramarital affairs these days in Pakistan , and breaking a lot of families .
Now we have this powerful tool of communication , in comparatively less educated society and it has open up the doors to few evils that our society is not use to . Have you came across such situation ? and how to control and prevent it ?
infidelity and other evils have always been there but maybe mobile phones are facilitating it (used to be done with hand signals)…
other things like guys recording their sexual trysts with their lovers and blackmailing them later on have become more common due to availability of camera phones etc…
Don't blame the technology. It's the responsibility of the user to know his/her limits. If anyone throws a cellphone at someone and kills them (let's assume) would we say that cellphones are the cause of death?
Its the medium. This was done via other mediums as well. A cheater is going to cheat no matter what medium.
This cell phone has saved many lives. Recently a guy crashed his airplane in my state and was trapped inside but managed to call for help and was saved.
So like anything cellphone can be used by a whore to solicit business or by a doctor to get in touch with a patient.
cell phones are just the channel, the thing we need to promote is the knowledge of Fear of ALLAH and the consquences one will face in result committing infidelity.
it is like committing zina is becoming a norm in Pakistan, and we still question earthquakes, floods, bomb blasts, etc.
It is not far when we will see a 13 year old grand mother.

People were able to cheat even when there weren't such technological facilities (cell phone, Internet, etc). It's just that technology has made it easier. How can you control it? Taking the technology away won't solve anything (there are pros and cons to that).........it depends upon the individual's will power and moral values. If someone is determined to cheat......they'll find a way.....even without a mobile phone.
well what i think is that who cares about if some ppl can't control themselves, the main part is that it's gud for the economy.. cell phone technology i mean..

Are not we master of finding the most negative use of any technology and convert it into an art form. VCR's to watch adult films, Internet to search for porn and cell phones for extramarital affairs.
