And don't feel to sorry for these guys....these guys (part of a larger mob) attacked first with swords and they attacked a group of "lower caste" students in an attempt to prevent them from taking final exams.
The "lower" caste students then retaliated and gave everyone a good thrashing which was caught on camera.
The police....well they are useless and typically let everyone fight it out first..and then take action.
Only in India ! ! ! !!!
Note how a whole unit of the police just stands there and does nothing.

I think this was a fight between 2 political parties or something. But the police just standing there is astonishing.

Reminds me of my college days....I used to be the first one to disappear. This happens in almost 80% of the colleges in India....once in a while.

Actually the guy really deserved the beating. (dalits guys were beating the other caste guy who had just attacked them with a sword).
What had happened there.
There are two castes fighting, dalits and thevar caste (which is also a backward caste). The dalits and thevars hate each other.
This happened at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Law University. Dr B.R Ambedkar was a great dalit leader. At this college, a group of thevar students organized a college function but in the posters purposely removed Dr. B.R Ambedkar from the college name because the thevars hate dalits and especially dalit leaders like Ambedkar.(even though they have no problem going to this college). Dalits protested this and this led to tension between the dalits and thevars. The thevars then told the dalits they could not take the final exams and if they do they would be beaten. But the dalits went to the final exams and on the way they were attacked by thevar mob including the guy who is getting beaten. This guy brought a sword to the fight. In the counter attack, the dalits beat up the thevars and caught this guy and gave him a good beating.
ironic part is that this incident has happened in a Law University.

Not only a Law University, but one founded by a daalit (i think).

Dr B.R Ambedkar (greatest dalit leader) wrote the Indian constitution and all it's laws.
He hated gandhi and gandhi hated him. Ambedkar made jinnah very uncomfortable.
