I got the folowing in the fwd email. Can someone verify that its correct?

Salary & Govt. Concessions for a Member of NATIONAL ASSEMBLY (MNA)

Monthly Salary : Rs. 120,000 to 200,000

Expense for Constitution per month : Rs.100,000

Office expenditure per month : Rs.140,000

Traveling concession (Rs. 8 per km) : Rs.48,000 (For a visit to ISLAMABAD & return: 6000 km)

Daily BETA during Assembly meets : Rs.500

Charge for 1 class (A/C) in train : Free (For any number of times)

(All over PAKISTAN)

Charge for Business Class in flights : Free for 40 trips / year

(With wife or P.A.)

Rent for Govt hostel any where: Free

Electricity costs at home : Free up to 50,000 units

Local phone call charge : Free up to 1,70,000 calls.

TOTAL expense for a MNA per year : Rs. 32,000,000

TOTAL expense for 5 years : Rs. 1,60,000,000

For 534 MNA, the expense for 5 years : Rs. 8,54,40,000,000 (more than 900 cores)

YOU FORGOT THE ARMORD AND BULLETPROOF CARS FOR THESE UNTOUCHABLE SERVENTS OF PAKISTANI PEOPLES,WHO ARE DYING WITH HUNGER AND DOING SUESIDE TO BYPASS THE HARDSHIP OF DAY TO DAY LIFE IN PAKISTAN,THEY ARE LIVING IN PAKISTAN, A THIRDWORLDS DEVELOPING COUNTRY, BUT THEY EARNED THE SALERY AND BENIFITS OF A WESTREN DEVELOPED COUNTRY.

So the average salary for a US Senator is around $160,000 a year, if you look at it from a point of view that the average house hold income is around $45,000, its almost 4 times that.

Taking that as a standard, it would mean that the average household income of a Pakistani should be around Rs. 30,000 a month, if the MNAs are making Rs. 120,000+ base.

But I am thinking the average household income for a Pakistani is not greater than Rs. 3000 and that might be pushing it. That means the MNAs make 40 times that of an average Pakistani!!

There arent 534 MNA's in Pakistan? Not all MNA's accept travel allowances I dont imagine MNAs for Islamabad, Pindi and the surrounding areas are offered plane tickets for the short drive. Expense for constitution..what does that mean? The payment for participating I believe is for members of standing committees. Some of these numbers can be a bit deceptive, while I agree there are quite a few MNA's who simply sponge of the money, i don't think people would object to MNA's being properly paid if they did their job right, although the real perks are if you become a committee chairperson, or speaker, or Minister and not as ordinary MNA. The Presidency is the best as you get a pension for life and all these perks once you leave office as well..

Actually I do mind even if they are doing their jobs well. Mainly because most of them have earnings from other sources and though their tax submissions make them look like an ordinary Pakistani, their lifestyle from the clothes they wear to the car of which back seat they sit in, shows that they are anything but ordinary.

The average household income in Pakistan is closer to RS.30,000 rather than 3000.

AJ I meant if things were done right..obviously not in the present circumstances, in any case these facts and figures are not balanced because they don’t include the real power brokers perks and pay..gazetted officers, military generals and Chief justices ..
