ISLAMABAD: A senior leader of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) on Wednesday refused to recognise Muhammad Ali Jinnah as Quaid-e-Azam (great leader) – a title associated with Mr Jinnah’s name. Speaking on a point of order in the National Assembly (NA), Maulana Muhammad Sherani referred to Mr Jinnah without mentioning his title. Chaudhry Amir Hussain, NA speaker, interrupted Sherani and asked him to add the title of Quaid-e-Azam with Mr Jinnah’s name. “I can only repeat your words Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah,” stated Sherani, and continued his speech. Imtiaz Safdar, a Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) member, asked if the MMA did not accept Mr Jinnah as a great leader. He said the religious leaders had bitterly opposed Quaid-e-Azam and the creation of Pakistan.The MMA leader did not explain his position on the matter. they are nothing but terroists, they were the ones responsible for the blasts in karachi. they are also the ones who have given junaid jamshed death threats for saving his beard.

This is disgusting. These ppl are the Islamist menace that threatens the internal security of pakistan. They need to be shut down, and such open disregard for Jinnah must surely be grounds for punishment.

nah..they r not at all danger for pakistan security...they everytime back army.....and yes if they dont want to accept quaid as a big leader,then leave it to them.....there r many others who r quite moderate think tht quaid was not a great leader like doctor ali mubarak etc....asi i said,i m not at all a supporter of MMA but blaming things which have nothing to with facts is totally idiotic

More then half of Pakistan Qaum does not recognize Jinnah as a leader, even MQM does not do it either and its leader Altaf Husein in his trip to India last year termed partition the "Grreatiist Tragiddy in the Histauory of Da Worrrlllddd".....

Parasites???? I think you are confusing the Ethno-feudal-political enterprises a la PML and PPP which have produced highly respected and altruistic absconders and lootayray leaders such as Zaradari, Faisal Hayat, Sharifs, Chaudrys of Gujrat, Bhuttos, and etc. etc....with somebody....

There should be a compulsive oath of loyalty to pakistan and jinnah pledged each morning by all Pakistanis. Also compulsary pics of Jinnah in all houses. Non compliance can be dealt with my buring ppl alive.

Whats the big problem here? If they do not want to call the Quaid a great leader so be it. You cannot force someone to like or dislike someone. Now isn't this narrow mindedness and extremism that some guys here want to declare others terrorists and what not because they have different views.
"Azam" means GREATEST and surely he was not the GREATEST, but a GREAT leader.
I would call him by his name. Respect is in one's heart and his very name Muhammad Ali Jinnah was great. He was a great personality! How about Quaid e Azeem.

i love the fact that no authority in pakistan can get away with disregarding jinnah than our religious parties…it just shows where the real power lies in democratic pakistan and what it stands for…

Yes Pakistan has many many Parasites… But the MMA is among the worst.
When they can become so powerful in country they had no hand in creating.. While they can get whatever they want without giving anything back except bigortry and intolerance, yeah thats what I call a parasite.
