Mizraab

Faraz Anwar’s new band “Mizraab”. Great and simple rock music. Faraz doesn’t shine as much in his playing as he did in Dusk or on his solo material “Abstract Point of View”, but then again, those 2 albums are of a very different style than Mizraab is. These guys are definitely something to check out. Their website is up and running. By the way, who is the white dude, Jamie in the band? Anyone know the story behind him?

you should check out their first album [mizraab - panchi]. that was something :-)

They already came out with an album? Woah, see I didn't even know about them.

Mizraab is GREAT. When I was in Pakistan last, they were playing the video Meri Tarhaan, produced by IndusMusic. VERY GREAT VIDEO.

They've also come out with videos for "Izhaar" and "Insaan".

I encourage the US/Canada dwellers to request these videos on Prime - that is probably the only way they'll play them.

Interesting sound....

Is this video available online?

It's also nice to see a decent drummer for a change. Decent drummers are hard to find in Pakistan so it seems. Maybe that white guy drums, who knows, anyone know? It doesn't seem to mention it on their website.

nice :k:

yes their debut album [PANCHI] was released back in 2000. then the members were Faraz, Khalid and akhtar qayum. you should listen to the drummings that were done in that album by qayum. one of a kind, mixing drums, tabla and dhools :--)

Haven't heard the album, but "Panchi" is a great song with excellent drumming!

I think the videos are on their website...maybe they're not there anymore.

I haven't seen anything of them on the majoriity of other music websites, so its not easy to find their videos.

Supposedly, some viewers managed to get ARY digital to play their videos. Prime TV is far from it.

EXCUSE ME, FRET, PLEASE RESPOND TO MY PM. Thanks :)
