ummm my most favourite of all of them is Patras bukhari…
If you recall his maibel aur main and few others of his articles,they bring back a refreshing memory! I think he is more sophisticated and has his own way of expressing views.
The only book by him which i went through was Patras ke Mazameen.If anybody here knows about some of his other work i would be interested to know.
I dont like younus Butt either.Ibne insha and some of chacha tarar’s books are definitely a mood refresher. :k:

hey name some books as well. i plan to brush up on my urdu a lil bit after exams. i want to read something that is easy yet hilarious in urdu.

suroor for u i'd recommend patras kay mazameen. not very long and good first read.
but my all time favourite is shafeeq ur rehman any book of his would be great hamaqateen, mazeed hamaqateen ,dajla , perwaz. you want me to put up samplers?

yeah I've read all the above mentioned...
at the mo, one more name I can recall is Karnal Muhammad Khan
I remember one of his lines from a book where he describes eating meal with spoon in a hotel abroad.
he says something like:
jahaaN nazar idhar udhar huvee, forun chamchaa choR kar haath say niwalaa halaq maiN unDel liya, goyaa angrezee khaanaa urdu maiN khaa laitaY thaY

nahi i dont think so.. konsi kitaab mein hei..? aur story mein kia hota hai..
wo konsi hai jisme group shaitaan ke israr pe huqqa le kar aur chadar orh ker theater dekhne jatay hein aur wahan judge sahab mil jatay hein.. who gets indignant over “mastoorat ka huqqa pina” .. Shafiq ko naraz razia ki naak ka zara sa hissa nazar aa raha hota hay lekin uske khayal mein wo zara sa hissa tamam nakon ke zara say hisson say haseen tha
