What's amal e kaseera, TLK? Please translate.
Addition to your salat that can delay a Fard rukn or replace a wajib rukn of salat is called an amal-e-kaseera.

Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
Doing something which breaks the Salah, like waving your hands etc.
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
Thank you.
Another point, a woman can't lead prayer of male namazis....according to some scholars she can lead it only from the back.
Sh. Hamza Yusuf wrote an article on this....I'll try to find it.
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
lock this thread. no point of discussion to discuss new innovation in religion.
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
I'm sorry but in our male congregations we often by accident can hit our heads on the bottoms of the men in front ... don't you think that will be kind of embarrassing if that bottom belonged to a sister?

so its not embarrassing when you play butt-head game with a brother?
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
That gives a new meaning to "Head Butt", yeah?
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
There is so much gap between people standing in the Safh. Imam sahib always says there shouldn't be any gaps in the Safh, or is that a fiqh thing.
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
Change what is in your power to change. Don't hold a defeatist attitude.
Guys, stop with the soft words and be upfront about it. This is not Islam. This is a bunch of misguided people in need of proper guidance.
I totally agree. We should tell religious extremists to buzz off.
Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
This is just for show i think. She cant be that ignorant about salah.. Can she?
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
Peace all,
I think the title of this thead is misleading. Look at the peoples offering 'namaaz' behind them. Dosn't looks like they are new reverted muslims and the lady in front of her teaching them how to offer namaaz in correct way? What to read and what are the meanings of those arabic words (verses) which they'll going to read.
I don't think this is Eid prayer or else. For me its looks more like 'teaching the correct way of offering namaaz'.
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
The name Butt sahib has always amused me!
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
I'll never understand some women's fascination with leading a congregational prayer.
Just why?

Equal rights?
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
Butt sahib doesn't approve equal rights for women.
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
Equal rights?
there are bigger and better things to fight for in the world......
I'd rather see the same passion applied to feeding the hungry or ending poverty.
you feed a family and I'll gladly give up my right to lead a prayer......
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
^Why not do both?
Re: Mixed Gender Eid payer in LA
Equal Rights? What Imaamat has to do with rights? Imamat is a duty, and when duty is to be performed, there is an eligibility criteria. Even in a casual gathering of men only, when its time for Salaat, you dont pick anyone randomly from that crowd, just because of "equal rights". You look for someone older, or someone with beard and/or someone who appears like a practicing Muslim from his attire and looks.

I'm assuming we have a limited amount of time and energy to devote to such activities.....besides....one would provoke controversy while the other would not.
