Back in the olden days when the world was young and the computor hadnt been invented, it was so very easy to converse with people, one said..“how do you do dear?” and waited for a response…we gained information by hearing the tone of voice, and by watching we could tell if people were lying or laughing or being playful… being snidy or rude!
It very difficult with this type of forum to get across the tone of what you want because your message may be misunderstood due to the mood and and personality of the reader.
Tell me about the ways in which youve unintentially offended or been offended by people…

ack, that is so very true! verizon saab and I have had more than one argument on messenger just because there are no facial expressions or tones of voice. so we converse now on messenger just quickly, to give news etc, not to chat.

why do people have too read to much into words? its a BB for crying out loud. I write everything with good intentions.

Very true, but I try not to take anything personally on-line especially from people who I don't know in person. It seems in every on-line forum there seems to be some who just like to instigate and push buttons, they aren't serious why take them that way.
As far as people misunderstanding you, happens all the time on and off-line, part of life. Straighten out what you can and hope for the best in the other cases.

In my family slap on the face (ChapaiR in Punjabi) speaks louder than words, so there is rarely any misunderstanding.
