Riya, it's simple. Some people by nature are not loyal. They aren't loyal to any relationship.
Just recently I found out about a very close family friend's son who has 2 kids and a lovely wife... he dumped her for another woman... then came back for a few months, then went off again leaving the kids and wife in debt and a whole bunch of liabilities. His parents are devastated back home, cannot come here due to visa reasons, and hasn't gotten in touch with anyone.
These kind of people usually have pyschological issues. He probably wants freedom, no boundaries, doesn't want to be answerable to anyone, wants to live a dirty and thrilling life. He's a pretty nice looking fella, well educated and comes from a very upscale and decent family. No one can argue that his parents worked hard to raise him and his siblings as we know them from when we were growing up.
So, it's part of your nature that you come with I guess. He tried to have a marriage but that wasn't his cup of tea. Who can knock sense into his head when he cannot even feel close to his kids?
Unfortunately, there are enough frustrated women out there to satisfy the urges of such men, yes even married women, women who don't care about breaking homes and ruining lives.

And that's what leads me to the conclusion that he is an insensitive and selfish person. And most other men/women who leave their families for other people are the same way. A parent would always think and consider possible effects of their action on their kids. Yes, mistakes happen, maybe a horrible marriage and all that, but really, I just can't come to terms with accepting that a normal parent would be so selfish.

Well it is no one's fault. It is human nature that you get bored with same stuff. To be 100% honest, Most men and women (including me and all my mistresses, x and present, mostly married) do it just for sex and to live your fantasies that you can't live with your spouse.
Please don't just blame men for this, women are equally invloved, married or single. For past 15 years I have always had a mistress (Never got caught, only idiots get caught. and I know Allah is watching everything so shhhh). Most of my mistresses were married women.
Is it cheating? well it is if you get caught otherwise its pure fun. Men and women who leave their spouses are bunch of idiots who give this a bad name. No matter what, at the end of the day, I go back to my darling wife for wonderful, hot family dinner.
