Put an unanchored rug on the floor
there are two short comings in put an unanchored rug on the floor: it is neither good in visual effect nor in safety. Usually, the elements in a room should be connected, both visibly and physically. A rug on the floor adds color and a connecton between pieces of furniture. The rug should be tucked under the front legs of chairs, sofas, and tables. An unanchored rug on the floor doesn’t provide any connection, but instead, it breaks your place into pieces. What’s worse, it poses a safety hazard. It would be very easy to trip on an edge or cornor of the rug or slip and slide if the rug moves. You should avoid that especially when you have kids or seniors at home. -
Too much furniture Choose Furniture That Doesn’t Fit
Remember, always put only what you need in your room. if you need only 2 chairs, don’t buy 4. Too much furniture is going to take up too much space that can make your room too crowded. Before going shopping, make a list of what you need, and stick to the plan when you are buying. You should never be disctracted by the sale at the shopping center. I mean, some stuff can be really good bargains, but you don’t need them and you don’t have room for them. -
Choose Furniture That Doesn’t Fit
-
People usually don’t wear clothes that are too fat or too skinny for them, but they tend to buy furnitures that doesn’t fit their rooms. Seeing and measuring are different. Before you shop for furniture, whether you’re buying new or at a garage sale, measure your space, think about where you’re going to put the piece, and write down notes. Resist the temptation to buy a too-big sofa, thinking you can put it on an angle if it doesn’t fit. Write down the measurements an stick to it. Buying pieces that are too small is not a good choice either, even though they can save you some space. Small pieces just don’t go well with large space and you cannot achieve the best function as well. I can reiterate the importance of measuring the size before buying enough.

Violating the Rule of 3 when choosing the color and patterns
I understand your eagerness to have all the stuff you like. But please think before you buy. Don’t pick up just any fabric or piece of furniture you like, thinking you can work around it. Plan your color scheme, select a main pattern, then find coordinating stripes, small prints, and plaids that enhance your choice. In one room, the number of colors and patterns should never go beyond 3. yes! it is the Rule of 3. Usually you can do it this way: Select one main pattern, usually a large print. Then find one small, coordinating print and one stripe or plaid. Then call it quits. If you need another fabric, think about using a solid-colored texture or interesting weave instead of another pattern or print.
Put up an exibition of all your collection
You are very proud to show anyone who comes to visit your collection. You love some collectibles too much that you can barely live without them insight. But you should really think again when you want to put them out. Whether it is a lovelydecorative pillow or a very cute cellphone holder or a lovely USB Fan, you shouldn’t put them all out at the same time. Choose the one that suites your need best at this time and and put the others into a storage box. After you get bored with the these ones, you can replace them with the others.
