Any clue what happened to:
- Imran Nazir
- Yousefl Youhana
- Younis Khan
Any clue what happened to:
Imran and Younis are out of PCB's good books because of poor form, and Youhana is out because of a hamstring injusry. He should be back in NZ series in November.
Imran Nazir? Last time i saw him play which was along time ago mind you he trashed the WI bowling side. After that he was dropped for no apparant reason. So domestically he has had poor form or what?
nah. His batting graph is nothing to be proud of. His average is sloping downwards:

An average of 24 aint that bad for a new player. He had only played 57 innings. Anyway thanks for the link that is a pretty good site.

24 is a VERY BAD for a new player, he should score big to prove himself, checkout stats of newer guys in SA series. And "57" is a good number, you don't stay NEW after playing 57 innings :)
There is a difference between the Aus and SA teams, which is that they bleed their players. You will notice all their players are relatively old compared to pakistani players. Plus they have countless years of experience behind them and even then they struggle to keep an average above 30. Cullian from the South African team is an example.
In ODI 35 plus is a good average. In tests 45 plus. The best have near 50. Imran Nazir is a kid. He has had no coaching at the level of the SA and AUS batsman. So i give him a break as well as any pakistani batsman that has not played for 4 or 5 years. Youhana and Inzi on the other hand dont deserve such a break.
How many ODI and Tests have those guys played? I doubt 57 innings. Even then not everybody performs well all the time. Heck Saeed Anwar nor Javed Miandad did. Stick to your players through the good and the bad. That is how Aus does it. That is how South Africa does it. Thus these two teams are the best in the world.
This is the analysis between Saaed Anwar and Imran Nazir
Imran Nazir:
In 1998-2003 duration he featured in 57 ODIs,
26 times scored below 10 which includes 9 ducks
6 times 10-20
4 times 20-30
10 times 30-50
9 times 50+ includes 8 50s, 1 100s.
He averaged 24.36
Saeed Anwar:
In 1988-1994 duration he featured in 57 ODIs
20 times scored below 10, includes 4 ducks
4 times 10-20
6 times 20-30
15 times 30-50
12 times 50+, includes 6 50s and 6 100s
He averaged 36.78
I see a difference there. Anyway, our opening problem seems to have been solved, may be he can be given more opportunities if our current players fail or lose form.
You cant compare those two, in my opinion for the following reasons: The teams they faced were far different, with different bowling attacks and different strengths and weaknesses, adding of course extremely sloppy fielding. Those all make a difference tow how much you care score.
An example is Pakistan and South Africa. Where Pakistan lets a single occur, South Africa turns it in to a dot ball. etc etc. Scores can move ahead like this and did in the 1988 - to 1994 period.
CM its always a very different comparison of two players of different era. I do agree that Imran Nazir should also be given a chance as Hafeez got so many while Imran apparantly has more potential in batting than Hafeez. But I'm not sure if selectors will give him as much time because of Taufeeq/Imran Farhat/Yasir 's availability.
Imran Nazir has had his chances and he blew them. Time and again he failed and now with taufeeq and Imran there he will find it very difficult to make a comeback. Still he is young and if he can iron out his problem and stop taking the aerial route so much I am sure he will be back because he is a talented cricketer.
CM jee aap aye hamarey forum par Khuda kee kudrat hai,
Kabhi hum aap ko kabhi KK ko dekhtey hain. :D
Inzi blew his chance for 2 straight years in 1996 and 1997, but we still kept him. The difference is that once the player is in a rut he gets kicked out. When he is out a new player comes in which needs to be bleed.
It keeps the team on edge and they cant cement togther.
Ehsan, what can i say, i am bored at work :p

Inzi blew his "chance" in 96/97? He had cemented his place in WC 92 and he was far more than established in the team by 96-97 and he didn't have problem of technical errors (or whatever) to be fixed.
He cemented his place true. But how many people have we dropped and added who had cemented their place? Many have cemented their postions. Few have stayed there.
CM...to afford Imran Nazir a position in the team we have to axe someone, which is not possible cause everyone is performing really well. Taufeeq, Farhat, Yasir, Asim Kamal, have all made good use of the oppurtunity granted to them, unlike Imran Nazir.
btw....Imran Nazir is an opener, and rite our opening pair looks all set, with the left handed pair of Farhat and Taufeeq.
So the bottom line is there is no place for him in the team rite now....
