Miss Universe

Miss Universe****

We are bombarded everyday with beauty contests like Miss Universe and shows like Extreme Makeover, as well as People Magazine featuring the most beautiful people in the world, all trying to answer the question “What is beauty?”. Furthermore, advertisements abound that offer the definition of beauty, selling products by selling hope of either making oneself more beautiful or maintaining one’s beauty. We have taken for granted what the definition of beauty is according to society, but have you really stopped to ponder what is beauty, really? It might surprise you.

The beauty they(media) show is fake and meaningless.

Re: Miss Universe

Most of the adverts and pictures you see are overly photoshopped. They may look appealing but unfortunately they aren't genuine and totally real. Celebrities one sees in magazines and on tv have had a lot of botox done, plastic surgery and what not. They make look perfect to us but all this usually comes with a price to pay in the long run. You can't really guarantee a procedure to be entirely successful, mishaps do and can happen.

There's nothing wrong in taking care of yourself ( exfoliating, moisturisng, cleansing etc) but some people clearly do not know where to draw the line. I was reading an article on Katie Price (Jordan) and it was sad to see the outcome of all the surgery and botox she's had so far. She looked vile in her pictures.

Most of us are obsessed with beauty whether or not we deny it. As I said before some people just don't know where to draw the line. Lets be honest who really looks at inner beauty? It's easy to write numerous pages on how the real beauty is what lies within. Who ignores outer beauty? If a girl is pretty, attractive people are more likely to be draw towards her compared to a short, plump, very dark girl with frizzy hair. Harsh right? This is how the society works nowadays. We can deny it as much as we can but the truth is no one wants to marry an ugly person. Do you ever hear a guy say " I want to marry a moti, kali 4ft larki?". Personally, i've never heard of that.

Everyone has there own definition of beauty some people may say " oh we go for inner beauty" but when it comes to marrying someone they want the best looking person out there. We see plenty of examples in our daily life and also here on gs lol

My mother's perception of beauty varies from mine. It's not important we all agree on the same thing.

Re: Miss Universe

I have a friend that photoshops so often get to see her before and afters. Some of the transformations are shocking!! They take every every bit of unwanted fat/hairs/blemishes etc and make the skin look lighter and brighter. It really is a false display. Anyone who looks at a billboard and thinks 'I wish I looked like her' is falling for such obvious deception.
