So tell me people , there is a fine line between being a miser and a spender.
When would you class someone a miser ? what actions of one tell you that they are being miserly ?
and the same question , what actions make you think the person is a chronic spender?
Re: Miser…
Stop being a miser Matatay. Ab lafzon mai kia kanjoosi kerni
Re: Miser…
lol…actually I wrote about someone… it made me sad coz it’s not my style, … so I removed it..
In my opinion… a miser can only steal his family’s happiness, what else can he do… not letting them buy things that make them happy is one of them..
For me a person who smokes is a spendthrift
Re: Miser…
I agree with you .
Will it be considered miserly if you decide to walk a longer distance instead of taking a bus or your car , just to save up some quids?
or , say you see some reduced price groceries at the shop, buying them instead of the full price stuff ?
etc
Re: Miser…
It depends, if you dont work, exercise and havn’t any activity then it’s a good idea to walk and save some bucks too, else you’re a miser..
I dont think so, it’s fair to buy at discounted rates..
Re: Miser…
you will be considered miser in a situation where you actually have loads of money but you still walk to a longer destination to save few bucks.
if on the other hand, someone doesn’t have too much money or have something big coming up that requires him to save money then i would actually appreciate a person who is putting himself in discomfort but trying to live within his means.
On groceries, if there isn’t much of a difference in quality, then nothing wrong in buying the at discounted prices.
To me, miser is someone who loves to hoard money and doesn’t even spend where it is required to spend. Seen people who are happy to accept dinner invites but never return the favor by inviting over others. People who get very cheap stuff for others, people would try to look out for excuses in making financial contributions to house expenses, people who would borrow your car and then conveniently forgets to fill the tank every time.
And yes, also people who doesn’t go for medical treatments just because they don’t want to spend money for it.
