I have heard this movie is being remade in Bollywood for release this year or next yr starring Sonam Kapoor’s brother. Previous versions have included Mirza-the untold story, a Punjabi movie, for which Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sang songs. Previous versions have been made on PTV and in Bollywood. The first version was made in 1947 before partition starring Noor Jehan, little known actor Trilok Kapoor and was directed by Amarnath. I managed to watch it on youtube. It was a really interesting movie and I really enjoyed it. Here is the original movie for those interested in watching.
